I'm getting ready for Art Affair on the Fence this week and next, which is being held on Saturday 23rd August. I've already painted some new pieces, but now I'm concentrating on the ultimate miniatures - 4x4" and 2-1/2x3" paintings of local scenes from Little Compton to Barrington. Painting that small is quite a challenge, especially on a textured surface, and I find that my painting style is forced to change to adjust to the petite dimensions. It's fun though. The 4x4" paintings are on a textured hardboard with a cradled depth of 1-1/2", and the 2-1/2x3" paintings are framed.

I had a great day on Sunday at Art al Fresco. The weather was perfect, and I met a lot of nice people. On Saturday 23rd August I'll be at Art Affair on the Fence in Bristol. Click here for directions. If you didn't get to see Art al Fresco then come along to this show.

This week I'm working on another study of the glass bottles I painted last week. Both paintings will be on display at Art Affair on the Fence.

I painted another still life this week, this time an arrangement of colorful glass bottles from the windowsill of my studio. It was like painting an absract with the refraction and distortion created by the light filtering through the glass. My next painting will be the same arrangement from a different perspective.

Don't forget this Sunday August 3rd Art al Fresco, the one day outdoor art show on the fence of Linden Place in Bristol, RI, is being held from 10am to 5pm. I'm hoping for good weather after last weekend's downpour. Click here for more information on Linden Place, and directions to the show.
